Art
The Art Department aims to give students confidence in their own creative abilities and self-expression in a wide range of media and disciplines.

Business Studies
Business Studies GCSE is one of the option choices available to students in Y10 and Y11.

Design & Technology
Design & Technology is an exciting subject where problem solving, creative thinking and the development of practical skills are important aspects.

Drama
Drama gives all students the opportunity to explore ideas, investigate issues and use their imaginations in a constructive way.

English
The English Department aims to develop communication skills.

Geography
The key aim of the Geography department is to develop in all students a questioning approach to the world they live in.

History
The History department aims to give all students an understanding and appreciation of the past, in order that they can become informed citizens for the future.

ICT
ICT- Information and Communication Technology, has become an essential tool in everyday life, to this end we as a school are committed to providing our students with the tools they need to survive in the big wide world.

Mathematics
All students learn mathematics throughout the school. We aim to make every lesson an enjoyable learning experience. To do this we use a variety of teaching styles.

Modern Languages
The Modern Languages Department teaches French to all students to KS3 level.

Music
During music lessons skills are developed in composing, listening and appraising.

Physical Education
The department has a philosophy of participation by all in an atmosphere of enjoyment and co-operation.

PSHE
In PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) we provide opportunities for our students to explore a range of themes in detail and from various viewpoints.

Religious Education
The main aim of the Religious Education Department is to help students to understand what religion is and to help students to have an overview of different religions and cultures.

Science
We don't find the ultimate answer to life, the universe and everything - it isn't in the National Curriculum - but we do encourage students to ask questions and hope they will not lose the curiosity they had as a young child.

Special Needs
We recognise that children with special educational needs may need extra support because of a range of needs, such as thinking and understanding, physical or sensory difficulties, emotional and behavioural difficulties, or difficulties with speech and language or how they relate to and behave with other people.
