Stocksbridge High School held their annual ‘Celebration Evening’ on Wednesday 28 November 2018.
This year saw a change in usual procedures to involve more students in celebrating their successes. Recent year 11 leavers were invited back to collect their GCSE certificates along with winners of approach to learning awards from current year groups. There was also entertainment provided by a current student.
Stocksbridge Mayor Cllr Julie Grocutt attended the evening along with Mr Gavin Ward, Project Manager at Dransfield Properties. They both were involved with handing out awards and kindly spoke to the students about what could be next in their progression from secondary school and what it means to be successful.
Local sponsoring business also attended the evening to present the long running awards and some kindly donated prizes for the students.

Adrian Smith, Headteacher said:
“This year’s event was bigger and better than previous years, we hope to carry this on every year in order to fully celebrate all successes of past and present students.”

The annual event will continue in November 2019.
